Five Amazing Places to Visit in Georgia

If you plan on visiting the state of Georgia anytime soon, or you just have an itch to explore some of the more interesting sites that it has to boast, then this list is definitely for you! And while you’re at it, consider trying out the new 2018 Ford Expedition.

1. Old Car City

With its humble origins as a general store back in 1931, Old Car City in White county is a fascinating walk through the world of automotive decay, and the brain-child of Dean Lewis. Sitting on a 32-acre plot, Lewis takes immense pride in his collection of decomposing cars, with models dating as far back as the 1910s, and acknowledging its existence as a form of art. If you plan on visiting, there is a $25 cash admission fee for adults.

2. Providence Canyon State Park

Considered on of the Seven Natural Wonders of Georgia, Providence Canyon State Park is a beautiful example of severe erosion resulting from poor farming practices dating back to the 19th century. It is so severely eroded that it was given the nickname Little Grand Canyon. Located in Lumpkin, Georgia of Stewart County, it is located near the Georgia-Alabama state line in the state’s Coastal Plain region. One of the truly awesome vistas found out here is a tree growing straight up out of an old 1957 Chevy truck lying on its side. The area is also a host to several rare and endangered species of flora.

3. Tallulah Falls

Located in Tallulah Gorge State Park, officials have recently been quite excited to see Peregrine Falcons nesting in the area again. The gorge itself is an incredible thousand-foot chasm, slowly carved out over millions of years. Located in the Northeast corner of the scenic Georgia mountains, the area is host to numerous natural wonders and loads of camping opportunities. Make sure you get a chance to hike up to Hurricane Falls.

4.  Arabia Mountain

Located in Dekalb County in the Davidson-Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve, Arabia mountain boasts a 955-foot peak. The area expanding over 500 acres was donated by the Davidson Family in the 1970s in order to preserve its majestic beauty for future generations. The mountain’s peak boasts a beautiful panoramic view of the area and is covered with geologic formations and solution pools that collect rain water. It is absolutely gorgeous.

5. Wild Animal Safari

This may be the most fun location on this list. Located 50 miles south of Atlanta in Pine Mountain, Georgia, Wild Animal Safari boasts 65 distinct species of animal, including giraffes, ostriches, buffalo, and a rhinoceros! The craziest part about this place is that you can actually drive through it in your car and feed the animals out of your window with food pellets that you can stock up on at the information center! There are also walk-through trails for those of us that might be a little less daring. Admission is around $25 for adults and $22 for kids ages 3-13, with free admission for children 2 and under. Just imagine having an animal larger than your car eagerly licking food pellets out of your hand.…
